Happy New Year! During the cold months of winter, I enjoy reevaluating my indoor spaces to see what needs adjusting. I’ve learned with proper planning and research, you don’t need to have a big space in order to have a successful art studio space. Here are a few tips and tricks I have learned over the years.

I love these three shelf carts! The great thing is you can find ones that will fit underneath your art table or desk, which saves a lot of space. All the paint and supplies that I would normally have on my desk, can now fit on a shelf under my art table. Additionally, since the shelves are under the table, they are not taking up any extra space in the room. Another thing I love about these is—they have wheels! You can roll them out from other the table and roll them back as you need to. They come in different widths and heights so you can decide which size would best suit your space.

Skinny stackable storage shelves are another fantastic way to save space. What I love about these is they do not take up a lot of floor space, but they still allow for a lot of room for art supply storage. Some of the wide plastic shelves can be very bulky and it’s easy to lose your supplies in the big drawers. These smaller drawers help keep things organized while also saving space. You can even label each drawer to help you quickly find what you need.

Don’t have room for an easel? No worries! You can get a tabletop easel and save yourself a lot of space. I love these because even if you do have an easel, when you need to work on two canvases at the same time, you can use a tabletop easel instead of finding the space for two easels on the floor. Plus, tabletop easels are a lot more affordable than professional easels. Therefore, these can save you space and money!
